  • Pub Of The Month September - Spinning Top Thursday 17 September 2026 18:00 N O T E --- A WEEK EARLIER THAN USUAL and STARTING EARLY AT 6:30pm. A well deserving outlet which rather gets overlooked being away from the town centre.
  • Stagger - Northenden Meander Friday 25 September 2026 19:30 This month the stagger is a week later than is 'standard' for this leisurely stroll around Northenden.
  • Weekday Wander - Bombing down the mines Wednesday 30 September 2026 11:00 Meet in St Peter's Square for 11:00am departure. We will be bombing along (courtesy of the V1 / V2 bus) to visit the former mining districts of Tyldesley and Atherton. No less than 4 GBG pubs (2026 edition) on offer.
  • Day out in Happy Valley Friday 9 October 2026 11:45 We are off across the border to Hebden Bridge and the heart of Happy Valley country (see how many filming locations you can spot) . Always an enjoyable place to visit and only takes around 30 minutes on the train.
  • Stagger - Levenshulme Friday 16 October 2026 19:30 A community which previously had so many pubs two staggers were required - now the remains can be accommodated in a more manageable undertaking.
  • October POTM - Arden Arms Thursday 22 October 2026 20:00 We are remaining in Stockport town centre this month with this award to the Arden Arms on Millgate (behind ASDA). This is among the oldest pubs in Stockport but is still going strong. A notable challenge is to access the small snug situated at the front of the building.
  • Weekday Wander - Winging our way to Urmston Tuesday 3 November 2026 10:45 We will be wing our way (rather than bombing* out to) Urmston today. Why these aviation references? Urmston was the birthplace of Roy Chadwick , chief designer for A V Roe, who designed the iconic Avro Lancaster and Vulcan bombers (among others). * Though if this had been the 5th, it might have been more appropriate!
  • Winter Warmer Wander Friday 13 November – Monday 28 December 2026 A five week long pub trail wandering around collecting stickers for drinking winter ales, namely Stout, Porter, Old Ale or a Christmas Ale.
