Demolished 1/5/1984, site is now retail outlet. Closed 1/5/1984. History: Former Wilson's house. Opened after 1780 when the original inn on the site, the Rope & Anchor was demolished. The name celebrates the Warren family, especially George Warren's daughter who married Viscount Bulkeley. Both names appear in streets in the town. Photos in Stockport Archive show open April 1984 but closed and boarded May 1984. An element of the Warren Bulkeley was saved for posterity however, the facade was transferred to a new shop unit on Bridge Street, that became an outlet for Laura Ashley.
